About Robertson

"The eastern gateway to the Southern Highlands" is a picturesque village nestled atop the Illawarra escarpment at approximately 700 metres above sea level. Positioned as it is above the sheer cliffs to the coastline, Robertson affords some of the most spectacular views from Wollongong in the north - over the Kangaroo Valley - to Kiama in the south. There are three (3) waterfalls within close proximity - Fitzroy Falls on the way to Kangaroo Valley, Belmore Falls just a 15 minute drive from the township, and Carrington Falls off Jamberoo Mountain Road.

Robertson is most famous for the afternoon mists that literally 'roll up the Illawarra Highway' usually around mid to late afternoon. This ensures lush green hillsides and thriving English style cottage gardens as well as the longevity of the other famous attribute - "The Robbo Potato".

The surrounding areas of Wildes Meadow, Burrawang and Kangaloon were originally settled by Irish potato farmers, some of whose families still carry on the agricultural trade today.

Robertson offers a diverse range of housing - from the predominant charming timber cottages hidden behind spruce hedges to brand new developer estates - or at the upper end of the market, the million dollar plus homesteads with sweeping coastal views overlooking the twinkling night lights of the coastal towns.

There's plenty of 'rural community spirit' and it's a safe haven for children to grow with schools, sporting fields and rainforest walks in the centre of the village. Local businesses include unique cottage-style retailers, antique shops, many cafes to choose from, doctor & chemist, bowling club and family friendly hotel, as well as convenient supermarket and post office - something for the whole family and to show friends when they visit.

Robertson - only 25 minutes from thriving Bowral & Moss Vale or 25 minutes to the beach at Shellharbour - is well positioned for steady growth, hence capital gain on property, over the next 5-10 years

2 hours to either Sydney or Canberra makes it a welcome tourist stop with potential yet to be realised
